The snap Stage 4 lockdown announced by Premier Daniel Andrews has sent shockwaves through the Victorian floral community on the eve of Valentine’s Day.

Valentine’s Day is one of our busiest days of the year. Florists like Fig & Bloom preorder weeks in advance from flower growers, which means we are locked in to our commitment to purchase. And our growers in turn have spent months lovingly tending to their crops to bring huge volumes of flowers to market at just the right time. Once the flowers have been cut, there’s no putting them back in the ground.

Melbourne florists & growers are hurting right now, so we decided to do something about it.

We are not accepting any more orders for Valentine’s Day & instead we are directing people to local florists we know have been caught out by this snap lockdown.

By placing your order with Herbivore, Botanics of Melbourne or Grown Florists you are helping hard-working local florists to avoid disaster and wastage on a massive scale this Valentine’s Day.
