April Birth Flower: What is the Birth Flower for April?

Welcome to our series on birth month flowers.

April for many of us is a month that screams mini vacays! Of course, that is if we are all lucky enough to get some time off. Whether it's Easter family holidays, school holidays, or a study break it is usually a month where we create heart-warming memories with our loved ones and friends and not to mention, with lots of chocolate!! So, if you're born in April what's not to love?! To go along with this blissful month, we have some fun little facts to go with your birthday flowers.

Have you ever wondered what your birth flower was? You've come to the right place!

The birth flowers for April are the Daisy and Sweet peas. It's funny, there is a real innocence about a daisy flower. Did you ever in your childhood say “he loves me, he loves me not?” whilst picking the flower petals off a daisy flower when you were crushing hard on a boy from school or on someone in the neighbourhood?! The daisy flower has always carried symbols of purity, innocence and love – so it all makes sense why when we were younger we turned to the daisy flower to test our true love.

Daisies

Once upon a time, Daisies were referred to as the “day's eye” because the petals closed around the centre in the evening and reopened again during the day. It is pretty cool how a daisy flower can feed off the sun's energy and bask in the warmth, yet also feel the dullness of winter or once the sun has gone down. It is true, flowers certainly feel things.

There are five popular types of daisies with petals varying in colours from orange, white, pink and more! The daisy flower has a round, bold inside which also changes in colour depending on the type of Daisy. Although the daisy flower seems to be quite a delicate flower, they are much more robust than you think! This is a flower that can be arranged in so many unique and dreamy ways but it all depends on the variation of other flowers you choose to put with the daisy. We would have to say the most fun part about creating a bunch with daisies would be putting together the arrangements based on their endless colour options. You can be VERY creative!

Sweet Peas

Have you ever heard of Sweet Peas? They are the sweetest looking flowers. The sweet pea is a flowering plant in the genus Lathyrus family and also derived from the Greek word “lathyros” which means pulse or pea. In flower language, the sweet pea flower is affiliated with delicate pleasure, blissful pleasure, goodbye and thank you for the lovely time. The love language really matches the name of the sweet pea!

Sweet Peas are easy to grow, especially during spring! These flowers remind us of wild European flowers which would be spotted in a field somewhere in Italy or Sweden, whilst having a picnic or going on a dreamy walk! They look absolutely divine in a small vase if you're into wild flowers! Put them in the middle of your dining table and they will look wonderful.

If you're looking for a birthday gift for a pal whose born in Feb, you now know the birth flowers and these flowers have a sentimental value which is always a little something special. Although let's face it, ALL birthday flowers are dreamy.
